We are no longer enrolling new participants in the study. Individuals who are currently in this study complete a series of confidential questionnaires.

Participants in this study are asked to complete questionnaires openly and accurately. Please do not attempt to complete your spouse’s or former spouse’s questionnaires. If you do not abide by this agreement, you may be dropped from this study, in which case you will no longer be offered paid questionnaires to complete. If you are in the Army, you must be in “off duty” status when you complete questionnaires. Additionally, soldiers completing questionnaires online must use personal computers, or computers authorized for personal usage.

Study questionnaires take about 60 minutes each and include questions about personal and relationship functioning. (The range of time required for questionnaire completion is about 45 to 75 minutes, depending on your test-taking style.)

About every nine months, you will be e-mailed a link to a website at which you can complete your questionnaire. If you do not have Internet access, we can mail you your questionnaire, along with a postage-paid return envelope. We will remind you when your questionnaire is due, and we are always available to answer questions. Because questionnaires can be completed online, or mailed to any location, you do not have to be on post to complete them. You can live anywhere in the world, and can even be on deployed overseas. You can continue to participate whether or not you or your spouse remain in the Army. You may even continue to participate if you move, go through a marital separation, divorce, or remarry someone who is not in the Army.

Over the next few years, we will ask that you complete a questionnaire about every nine months. While we do pay for the time that questionnaire completion requires, we cannot provide duty release time or childcare compensation.
